AVOID GETTING SCAMMED - TIPS AND TRICKS:

The Main Reasons to use a professional outfit like Mod Masters be because we will keep your box CLEAN, original Warranty sticker in-tact and will be sure you get the same box BACK you gave us! Many of these kids doing this on their Mom’s Kitchen Table will mess up these very important things!. Take your Box to one of these kids if you want to save a buck but check out a few things FIRST before you do. Here is a checklist of things to note BEFORE you take your box to ANYONE including US!:

1. Remove the front faceplace (yes its designed to be easily removed) by pulling on the bottom of the faceplate. And Note the Following:

A: Your Serial Number printed by the USB or Controller Ports

B: The warranty sticker

2. Look at the serial number sticker on the BACK of the console, it should match the one under the faceplate
3. Look at the BACK of the console you will see several tiny slots the run down a seam in the middle, these should look CLEAN and not enlarged or messed up.

After you take these steps and write these things down Have your unit fixed or Modded and make SURE the console looks the Same as when you brought it in! If not then you should demand a REFUND IMMEDIATLEY

We have heard it ALL here, kids swapping out Xbox’s on people, switching out just the guts, and people TEARING up units to get inside. A professional will leave your box as clean as the day your bought it. (Provided you keep it that way J

Beware of Repair kids in Seattle, Snohomish, Lynwood, Federal Way and shops on the Eastside that offer little Upgrades, these are always scams and tricks to drive up the repair bill. They will offer the repair at a low rate but then tell you about these cooling options that drive the price right back up. Here are a few of our Favorites:

Penny Trick: They Tape 2 pennies in Black Electrical Tape and use thermal compound to stick it to the underside of the mother board: This is supposed to help cool the memory chips on the bottom of the motherboard. This method is not only PROVEN ineffective but the pennies are too thick and end up WARPING the motherboard once its screwed back in. This will cause further Micro fractures in the lead free solder (which is already weak) from the strain the pennies put on it. This IS going to break within a month. JUST SAY NO TO PENNY REPAIR!

Fan Trick: The twin Fans inside the xbox are regulated by the xbox own internal thermal sensor, they normally run at about 10% speed, the xbox when it gets hot will INCREASE them by itself. Some clowns like to SHORT out the fan making it run at 100% ALL THE TIME. This is COMPLETELY unnecessary and will make your 360 sound like a jet engine taking off. Not very gameplay friendly, voids your original 3 year microsoft Warranty and a total waste of money

Fan Cage Trick: This one is interesting folks, they take a Grinder to your metal chassis (inside the white plastic case) and they grind out the half of the metal cage holding the fan. This is like taking the metal cage off your home box fan, it will increase airflow by .0001% not only is this completely ineffective, a waste of time, money but It will VOID your 3 year warranty you have on your box, so when your box breaks again in 5 days and you get a refund from the kid who did this you will NOT be able to use your original Microsoft warranty. Remember your 360 will increase the fan speed ON ITS OWN because it has an on-board temperature sensor so this is completely unnecessary. Not to mention it looks like hell and leaves sharp jagged edges inside your console. Totally ridiculous

We have seen kids charge for flow upgrades where they grind the hell out of your box metal chassie bottom to “increase airflow” more wasted money not to mention baffeling as to the logic of it.

Just remember to look at your 2 serial numbers and your warranty sticker BEFORE you take your 360 to ANYONE including us!
